Careful

With a low equity ratio and a focus on stable Swiss bonds, you aim for higher returns than on a savings account. In return, you accept minor fluctuations in value. You invest 40% of your equities in Switzerland.

The performance shown from 2005 to March 2021 is based on index data minus Management fees, Custody fees, and fund costs (TER) (since findependent has only been around since 2021). From April 2021, the effective performance of our pillar 3a investment solutions is shown. Again, after deducting all costs. So this is the net returnโ€”the profit left over for you after deducting all fees. Even though these are real returns, remember: past performance is no guarantee of future results.

60% abroad, 40% Switzerland, or in other words: Global diversification with a tilt towards Switzerland. You invest in around 1'500 companies across more than 50 countries.

Why such a heavy weight on Switzerland?
There are several reasons for Swiss equities, such as tax benefits and no foreign currency risk. Nevertheless, the Swiss stock market is heavily dependent on a few sectors (pharma and consumer goods). For instance, Nestlรฉ, Novartis, and Roche make up around 45% of the Large Caps Switzerland index fund (which features the 20 largest companies traded on the Swiss stock exchange). That's why we complement the equity part with the Small & Mid Caps Switzerland index fund, which includes around 180 small and medium-sized Swiss companies, such as Sonova, Schindler, or Helvetia.

At the same time, we're bringing the whole world to your portfolio. The distribution across different countries/regions is based on the size of the capital markets.

Outside of Switzerland, we only choose sustainable index funds that strictly avoid investments in nuclear power, coal, or weapons.

We hold around 1% of your investment solution as a liquidity buffer in your account. That way, we don't have to sell any index funds when the next fee settlement is due, and we can use this buffer if your deposit amount is not exactly divisible by the index funds prices.
