How do I report my 3a assets on my tax return?
Fortunately, you don't have to pay tax on your 3a assets until retirement, as there are no income, wealth, or withholding taxes. This is the great leverage of pillar 3a, because you can even deduct your annual contributions from your taxes!
You will receive a tax certificate from us via app at the beginning of the year, which you can simply upload when filing your tax return. You can find the tax certificate under your profile in the "Documents" section, where you can easily download it. You then enter the amount you paid in under "Deductions" in your tax return. The deduction is made directly from your taxable income. So, for example, if you report a net income of 60'000 Swiss francs, your net income will be reduced by the amount you paid into your pillar 3a.
The state only knocks right at the very end when you have your assets paid out. You then benefit from a reduced tax rate.
