How much am I allowed to pay into my pillar 3a at most?
If you are employed and affiliated with a pension fund, your limit is 7'258 Swiss francs (2026). The same limit applies to self-employed individuals who are affiliated with a pension fund.
If you don't have a pension fund because you are self-employed or work part-time, the following margin applies: You can pay in up to 20% of your earned income, with an absolute upper limit of 36'288 Swiss francs (This corresponds to an earned income of 181'440 Swiss francs).
Good news: You can now also make retroactive contributions into pillar 3a if you cannot or could not always pay in the maximum contribution. More information on that here.
